As we prepare to celebrate the warmth and joy of the holiday season, let’s extend that spirit beyond our homes. This year, MEB is organizing a Christmas collection to support children in Sudan—many of whom face unimaginable hardship every day.

Thank you to everyone who shared suggestions for this year’s cause. A strong theme emerged: a desire to help children in need, with many of you highlighting the crisis in Sudan. In response, we’ve chosen to partner with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, known for its collaboration with other UN bodies and international organizations to deliver coordinated, effective aid where it’s needed most.

Despite being one of the world’s worst humanitarian disasters—with over 12 million people displaced and 25 million in need of assistance—the war in Sudan has received shockingly little international attention. With multiple global emergencies competing for headlines and resources, donor fatigue has set in. This silence has devastating consequences. As one report put it, “Sudan is bleeding in silence.”

Your contribution—no matter the size—can bring comfort and hope to children who need it most. Together, we can turn compassion into action and make this season truly meaningful.
